MANILA WATER

“Tubig Para Sa Barangay” (TPSB) or Water for the Community is the Company’s flagship program to provide affordable potable water for the urban poor. It was developed to suit the physical, social, and economic conditions of households from marginalized communities. In line with the program objectives, the land title requirement in applying for a water service connection was eased up through the support of MWSS, while flexible financing options and a socialized tariff scheme for low-income families were introduced.

The strong partnership that the Company established with the communities contributed significantly to the success of the program. Since its launch in 1998, TPSB has been the most concrete example of Manila Water’s thrust to align business and social goals. To date, over 700 TPSB projects have been completed serving 1.7 million people.
