By many accounts, Intel’s CEO Brian Krzanich gave the most interesting talk during CES 2014. During the keynote, he talked about the recent trends of the Internet of Things and wearables and unveiled a bunch of new, potentially game-changing initiatives.
But it was clear that it was the “Smart Bowl” that really caught everyone's imagination.
There’s one in almost every home: A large bowl sitting in the kitchen or dining room where you put all the junk: keys, loose change, rubber bands, batteries, coupons—whatever.
The Smart Bowl that Brian Krzanich unveiled is sleek, simple and useful.
It’s a wireless charging bowl: You dump your phone, iPod, earpiece, FuelBand or any other gadget that needs a charge into it and — in no time — they’ll be fully charged. No more fumbling with wires and adapters.
The plan to expand the Smart Bowl to accommodate a wider array of devices, including phones, tablets, and Ultrabooks should be straight forward since the system uses the A4WP's Rezence wireless charging system.
In fact, Intel’s engineer was able to modify the popular Nike FuelBand with the A4WP compliant circuitry in less than an hour, in time for the CES keynote demo.
While not a product Intel will put on sale itself—the Smart Bowl is a reference design—Intel believes smart charging stations are the future.
Hmm it looks like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I'm
ReplyDeletethoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but
