Accent Hatch 1.6 Dsl 6-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission variant review

The HyundaiAccent 1.6L CRDi VGT Hatch comes with 1.6L Dsl 6-speed manual transmissionvariant and  1.6L Dsl 4-speed automatictransmission variant. The question is, what makes them differ to each other aside from being 6-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission.

On this article we will tear part by part every important details found in the car. Start from car model, engine, transmission, steering, chassis, dimensions, exterior features, safety, security, interior and both driver - passenger convenience features.

Car model

The Accent Hatch comes into two different model, the 1.6L Dsl 4A/T an automatic transmission variant and the 1.6L Dsl 6M/T a manual transmission variant. However, both Accent Hatch 1.6L Dsl 4-speed automatic transmission variant and the 1.6L Dsl 6-speed manual transmission variant comes with Five (5) seating capacity.

Car Engine

Both variant equipped with the same engine model, the 1.6L CRDi VGT with a displacement of 1582cc, a Maximum Power of 128ps/4000rpm, and a Maximum Torque of 26.5kg-m/1900 – 2750rpm. Further, both model also featuring 16 Valve HLA and using common rail fuel system.

Car Transmission

In the first place, transmission is the obviously different. The Hyundai Accent 1.6L CRDi VGT Hatch 1.6L Dsl 6M/T variant is using 6-speed manual transmission while the Accent hatchback 1.6L Dsl 4A/T comes with 4-speed automatic transmission. When it comes to fuel economy, the 6-speed Manual Transmission ready with an additional gear to give you extra leverage in shifting power, especially helpful when your road trip demands a long drive. While the 4-speed Automatic Transmission provides smooth gearshifts that result in precise engine responsiveness resulting in better fuel economy.

Car Steering Wheel

Both cars comes almost the same in all features but as transmission is exactly unlikely, the cars steering wheel also followed. For our manual Accent hatch, steering wheel comes in 4-spoke with tilt adjustment and audio control while automatic Accent steering wheel is 4-spoke leather with tilt adjustment and audio controls. However, both variant go the same to be a motor driven power steering or MDPS.

Car Chassis

Both manual and automatic transmission car suspension in front comes MaPherson Strut Type with coil spring while in rear suspension installed a coupled torsion beam axle. Car front wheel is integrated with ventilated disc brake while on its rear a solid disc break. For  Accent 1.6L CRDi VGT Hatch 1.6L Dsl 6M/T variant, it uses a 5.5J x 14-inch Steel with Full Wheel Cup wheel with 175/70 R14 tires while the  Accent hatchback 1.6L Dsl 4A/T comes with 4-speed automatic transmission variant comes equipped with 6.0J x 16-inch alloy wheels with 195/50 R16 tires. However, both car variant comes with full size spare tire.

Dimensions

Both comes with the same 5-door hatchback body type with overall length of 4115mm, 1700mm width, height measuring 1457mm, and wheelbase of 2570mm. Also, a same vehicle gross weight at 1650kg and fuel tank capacity of 43Liters. Further, an overhang of 820 in front and 725 rear. However, for our manual transmission operated car, it comes with a curb weight of 1160kg – 1235kg while automatic transmission car comes weighting 1170kg – 1245kg.

Exterior Features

For exterior feature, our automatic operated car comes more generous in feature, because it equipped with front fog lamps and side repeater while manual car having unequipped. Both also comes with door handle that same as it body color also it outside rear mirror. Further, both cars comes with rear spoiler with high mount stop lamp.

Safety and Security

Like its exterior features, when it comes with security and safety, automatic transmission driven car comes with dual front SRS Airbags while manual Accent only integrate airbag on it's driver side, not fair enough for a passenger. However, both model integrated with Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution and featuring keyless entry with alarm.

Interior and Convenience Feature

For convenience for both passenger and driver, both cars comes with sun-visor with two vanity mirror and ticket holder on driver side plus a deluxe console, front map lamps, inside door handle, rear seats at 60:40 split fold, 3 adjustable up or down adjustment rear headrest, and a central door locks. Further, a power windows, portable ash tray, matte black finish center fascia, tuner/CD/MP3 with USB port AUX-in and bluetooth audio system, 4 speaker system, manual air-conditioning and a trip computer. However, a power side mirror for automatic car come equipped with electric heated. But with ECO mode, manual driven transmission comes with shift indicator.
