Rustan Supercenters, Inc. (RSCI), a member of the Rustan Group of Companies, was founded in 1998 at the height of the Asian Economic Crisis. It was the Rustan Group's first major foray into the discount-retailing segment through an adapted European style hypermarket called Shopwise.  RSCI pioneered the hypermarket concept in the Philippines.
